Parts of Fort Sill are under a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice.
As of 9 a.m. Thursday, Fort Sill leadership issued a precautionary boil water advisory for areas east of Fort Sill Boulevard and south of White Wolf Manor due to reduced water pressure resulting from a main break in the City of Lawton’s water system, according to Edward “Ed” Muñiz, Deputy Director of Public Affairs.
Affected areas include:
• Academic Heights.
• Old Post Quadrangle.
• Geronimo Acres.
• 6000 Area.
• Patriot Estates.
• Freedom Elementary.
How to safely boil water:
• Bring water to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute
• Allow boiled water to cool before use
Use boiled or bottled water for:
• Drinking and food preparation.
• Making baby formula.
• Brushing teeth.
• Ice making.
• Wound care and bathing infants.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice as Fort Sill continues to coordinate with the City of Lawton and American Water Enterprises to restore normal water pressure. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
