Lines continued to snake out of the Comanche County Fairgrounds Great Plains Coliseum Annex Friday evening as in-person absentee voting continued for Tuesday’s general election.
Voting began Wednesday morning and by 4:20 p.m. Friday, 4,960 ballots had been cast with hundreds more in line to vote before 6 p.m., according to Comanche County Election Board Secretary Amy Sims.
Voting would resume from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Sims said the turnout had been strong and each day the operation ran smoother with more ballot machines brought in following Wednesday’s voting.
There are approximately 62,000 registered voters in Comanche County, Sims said.
