America’s Veterans Supporters are searching for volunteers to help place wreaths at Fort Sill National Cemetery as part of the Wreaths Across America campaign.
Volunteers should meet at the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for a morning of work, said organizer Pat Powell, adding that the more volunteers, the quicker the project can be completed. The cemetery is located at 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, and is accessible via Interstate 44 at U.S. 62, then traveling north to Glover Road, then east to the cemetery, or from I-44’s Elgin exit, then west on U.S. 277 to Jake Dunn Road, then south to the cemetery.
Wreaths Across America is a national campaign that places Christmas wreaths on the graves of veterans for the holidays. Wreaths will remain through Christmas, Powell said.
