A joint investigation between the Lawton Police Department Special Operations Unit and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) on Thursday led to the arrest of three people for aggravated fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking and unlawful possession of firearms.
Through traffic stops and search warrants, LPD and OBNDD seized 290 grams of powder fentanyl, 933 grams of methamphetamine, $34,980 in drug proceeds, two vehicles, and seven firearms, said Lt. Charles Whittington, LPD information officer.
“Based on these seizures, the OBNDD Anti-Heroin Task Force seized an additional 626 grams of fentanyl powder, 494 grams of counterfeit prescription tablets containing fentanyl, 883 grams of methamphetamine, and approximately $20,000.00 in drug proceeds, from a related residence in Oklahoma City,” he said.
The three arrested are awaiting charges being filed in the Comanche County District Court as of Tuesday afternoon.
“The Lawton Police Department and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics will continue to combat the trafficking and distribution of these dangerous drugs in our community,” Whittington said.
