COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Texas A&M totally dominated the boards, out rebounding Oklahoma by a staggering 47-19 edge and down the stretch the Aggies made just enough shots to preserve a 75-68 SEC victory.
The Sooners shot better than the host Aggies in every category except free throws and it was at the line where A&M got the win, hitting 29-of-35 free throws as the Sooners found themselves in trouble from the outset.
However, 48 percent shooting from the field and a solid 45 percent from long range allowed the Sooners to make it a game until the final seconds. The Sooners also gave up 11 turnovers that the Aggies turned into 19 points.
The Aggies also played solid defense, holding down freshman Jeremiah Fears scoreless as he missed all five shots from the field while playing just 19 minutes with foul trouble.
Despite the troubles, the Sooners got within a bucket, 61-59 on a Brycen Goodin long-range bucket. However, from that point the Aggies were able to connect on several layups and then put the game away at the free throw line.
