The first day of filings for county, state and federal offices ended Wednesday with all but two area incumbents signaling their intent to seek re-election.

In Comanche County, the incumbents for Central District Commissioner, County Clerk and Court Clerk filed for re-election, but two new names entered the race for County Sheriff. The two Lawton Republicans filing for the county’s top law enforcement seat were Andy Moon, 46, and Michael Merritt, 56.

The other county races saw all three incumbents file Wednesday morning: Johnny Owens, 80, for Central District Commissioner; Carrie Tubbs, 54, County Clerk; and Robert Morales, 70, Court Clerk. All three are Lawton Republicans.

The three-day filing period for county offices, U.S. House seats, all Oklahoma State Representatives and State Senators in odd-numbered districts ends at 4 p.m. Friday. Other candidates who filed Wednesday were:

U.S. HOUSE

3rd District: Republican: Darren Hamilton, 52, Fort Supply; Incumbent Frank D. Lucas, 64, Cheyenne.

4th District: Republican: Incumbent Tom Cole, 74, Moore; Andrew Hayes, 40, Lawton. Democrat: Mary Brannon, 72, Washington; Kody Macaulay, 35, Moore. Independent: James Stacy, 60, Burneyville.

STATE SENATE

District 31: Republican: Incumbent Chris Kidd, 44, Ringling.

STATE REPRESENTATIVES

District 50: Republican: Stacy Jo Adams, 49 Duncan; Andrew Aldridge, 31, Duncan.

District 51: Republican: Incumbent Brad Boyles, 40, Marlow.

District 52: Republican; Incumbent Gerrid E. Kendrix, 56, Altus.

District 55: Republican: Incumbent Nick Archer, 39, Elk City.

District 62: Republican: Incumbent Daniel Pae, 28, Lawton. Democrat: Allison Offield, 54, Lawton.

District 63: Republican: Incumbent Trey Caldwell, 35, Faxon. Democrat: Shykira Smith, 45, Lawton.

District 64: Republican: Incumbent Rande Worthen, 67, Lawton.

District 65: Republican: Incumbent Toni Hasenbeck, 52, Elgin.
