This month’s Let’s Talk About it theme will help other’s shape their lives based on how they see the world.
The McMahon Auditorium Authority will host “Writing Worlds: The Art of Seeing in Anthropology, Fiction and Autobiography” at 6 p.m. Thursday July 18 at the Cameron University Library, 2800 W. Gore Blvd.
The Let’s Talk About It series has fostered connections among readers throughout the state, according to a press release. The series aims to explore the literary response to the social changes of the era. Several writers will show how other’s observations are shaped by their contexts and identities and ask how they influence other’s perceptions.
The series is a five-part, scholar-led discussion group that brings books to life, encouraging thought-provoking discussions, the release said. All discussions will be held every third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Cameron library, unless otherwise stated.
The program is free and open to the public.
Anyone interested in participating can get copies of the books at the City of Lawton’s Arts & Humanities office, 801 NW Ferris Ave. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
