ELGIN — Elgin residents will have access to more health care services under an agreement signed by Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Elgin Economic Development Authority.
Plans call for Lawton Community Health Center and Memorial to provide a new primary care clinic, an urgent care clinic, imaging, lab, and space for rotating specialty services.
The Elgin Economic Development Authority is providing the land for the expansion. Lawton Community Health Center will be responsible for developing and building new facilities in Elgin. The primary care clinic and urgent care clinic will be the first phase of the project.
“Comanche County Memorial Hospital is excited to partner with the Elgin Economic Development Authority to help expand health care services in and around the Elgin community, a vital part of Comanche County. It’s our goal to increase access to quality care,” said Brent Smith, FACHE CCMH CEO, in a press release.
“I have worked since day one to expand access to healthcare in Elgin,” Elgin Mayor JJ Francais said in a statement. “What began as a fight to get an ambulance service based out of Elgin to what has developed into a seven-acre medical park. This will help to improve the health outcomes of our residents and will also enable them to stay in Elgin long past retirement.”
Memorial Hospital and Lawton Community Health Center have provided primary care and pediatric services in Elgin since 2010. Lawton Community Health Center in Elgin is located at 7936 US-277.
Lawton Community Health Center has 22 clinic locations with 80 providers in and around Southwest Oklahoma.
