Lawton Mayor Stan Booker is hosting a “Whirlwind Tour” ahead of the Sept. 12 special election to extend the ad valorem tax.
There will be three events as part of the tour in three different areas of the city. The mayor, along with city staff from departments to include engineering, public utilities, parks and recreation, Lawton police and city management, will be available to answer questions.

“There are many great improvements happening within our City, with even more planned,” Booker said. “The tour will give us an opportunity to share our story better than before, with complete access to our knowledgeable city staff.”
The tour will start at 7p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 910 NW 38th Street. The second stop will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at Bible Baptist Church, 7501 W. Lee. The final stop will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 ar First Baptist East, 3302 E. Lee.
