Marlow boys claim 3A State track title; Cache boys third in 4A

Marlow boys claimed the Class 3A State Track and Field team championship during competition last Friday and Saturday at Catoosa High School.

The Outlaws scored 89 points to beat Idabel and Millwood for the 3A boys title. Cache boys were able to make a strong run at the 4A title before seeing Ada grabbing the title with 102.5 points while Heritage Hall was second with 93 and Cache was third with 81.

Marlow got big points from Jonathon Bright who won the 100 in 10.81 and the 200 in 21.84. Cian Durham also claimed a pair of gold medals as he won the shot with a throw of 53-3.75 and then grabbed the discus title as well with a throw of 159-4.

And it wouldn’t be a good track season if the Outlaws didn’t win the pole vault which was made famous by Marlow native Joe Dial who is a legend in the vault to this day. Ty Spivey claimed the gold with a 13-6 vault and teammate Casen Copeland vaulted 11-6 to take sixth.
