Tim Lundquist rolled the week’s top set while bowling in the Suburban league at Twin Oaks, where he had games of 276, 278, and 215 for a 769 series. Following in the Suburban was Paul Davis with a 727 on games of 226, 235, and 266, Matt Casey with a 726 that went 230, 239, and 257, and Toby Franco made the show with a 718 that went 241, 242, and 235.
Meanwhile, on this same night, the TNT league was in action at Thunderbird Lanes, where Tyler Price was in the groove, scoring 269, 228, and 248 for a 745. Danny Carson followed closely with games of 248, 232, and 264 for a 744.
As a side note, Richard Jacoby had a rough go last week but managed two 280 games: one in the Socialites, as reported in last week’s column, and the other four days later while bowling in the TNT.
Craig Fain had a good set while bowling in the Goodyear league, leading the pack with a 736 on games of 253, 226, and 257. Chad Perry started the Goodyear league with a 278 game but strug-gled in games two and three. He was quick to rebound, though, as the next evening, while bowling in the Early Birds, Perry was the only bowler with a 700, rolling 249, 236, and 247 for a 732.
Gary Webster was the senior bowler of the week with a 709 series bowled in the Entertainers league. Webster had games of 249, 236, and 224 to record his first 700 series in this association. Russell Nauman was a close second in the Entertainers with a 701 that went 234, 223, and 244. Steve Mans finished up with a 268 to hit the hard-luck 699 total, rounding out the league’s top three. Mans had already made the 700 list, leading in the Socialites with a 704 on games of 221, 226, and 257. Leading the women’s race last week was Teri Jester with a 678 set posted in the Golden Years league on games of 211, 247, and 220.
Youth Highlights
Peyton Smith rolled 234, 225, and 234 for the youth high series of 693 while bowling in the TBird Legends, where Tyler Avers rolled a career-high 202 game off a 94 average. Legend’s Jake Croft also scored well, putting games of 227, 213, and 176 together for a 616. Ali Biscaino rounded out the youth top three with a 593 set from the TOBC Oak Trees. DJ Scott led in the U12 TBird HotShots with a 489, followed by Lee Perry’s 457.
No-Tap News
Herbert Scott put games of 254, 288, and 243 together to take first place with a 911, including handicap, in the Senior No-Tap Colorama at Thunderbird Lanes in the Dec. 6 event. Lee Brown fol-lowed after closing his set with a no-tap 300 game to total out at 905. James Halstead had a distant 807 for third. Honorable mention goes to birthday boy Sam Bowman, who rolled a 290 in game three.
Teri Jester took first place for the ladies with 809, including scratch no-tap games of 286, 244, and 258, followed by Cathy Shuman with a second-place series of 780. Jester and Shuman took first place in game one with a 596 as partners in the Mystery Doubles feature. Game two went to Herb Scott and Sue Avis for a 570, and winning game three were Roy Johnson and Lee Brown with a 563.
Strike pot ticket winners were JP Nauman, Dave Baver, James Middleton, Teri Jester, Armour Brown, James Halstead, Scott Brenke, and Roy Johnson. As for special challenge shots, Steve Jester left the 3-10 to win the Snake-Bite prize.
