The Lawton Public Schools Foundation has announced April 21 as the date for this year’s Putt For Students golf scramble to raise funds for the foundation and the work it does to promote programs for students and teachers.
The scramble will be held at the Lawton Country Club with sessions in both the morning and afternoon. Entry fee is $500 per four-person team and that includes lunch and a variety of prizes for top teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and a hole-in-one contest.
Team captains can enter their team by picking up an entry form at the Lawton Country Club Pro Shop or they can call Lisa Carson at 580-585-6251 or visit the LPS Foundation Website at LawtonPSF.org
Golfers will be able to aid the fund raising effort with mulligans for $5 each and raffle tickets for $10 each or six for $50.
In addition to entering a team and assisting the effort in that manner, there are business sponsorship packages available ranging from the Double Eagle ($10,000), Eagle ($5,000), Birdie ($2,500), Par ($1,000) and hole sponsorships for $150. The schedule of events on April 21 starts at 7 a.m. with on-site registration, the practice range will open and breakfast will be served. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:45 a.m. and the morning round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon session tees off at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. after the completion of the afternoon session.
