Lawton Public Schools band and vocal music students recently brought home several awards and honors.

Two MacArthur High School students have been named members of the American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir. Brenan Brown and Sara Cheesman were selected for the honor out of more than 5,000 participants nationwide. The two will participate in the Honor Choir March 19-22, 2025, in Dallas.

MacArthur High School students who made it through the first round of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association All-State competition are: Austin Blankenship, Brenan Brown, Sara Cheesman, Emeri Golden, Abigail Masters, La’Kendra Perry, Makaila Porter, and Anastasia Spencer. The second round audition was held Nov. 16.

MacArthur students who were named Oklahoma Choral Directors Association All-Staters include Chyanne Burse, Xon’Driqk Miller and Lillian Staats. The second round of auditions will be held Nov. 19.

MacArthur Middle School students who were named Oklahoma Choral Directors Association All-Staters include Gabrielle Gonzalez and Aliza Martin.

One student from Eisenhower High School and two students from Eisenhower Middle School qualified for the second round of choir. They are : Maddison Bullis, EHS, and Kylie Huynh and Capri Campain, EMS.

Lawton High School students who were selected for All-Region in band include:

Renatta Martinez-Contreras, All Region, All State Round 2; Lauren Lee, All Region, All State Round 2; Adaira Pomeroy, All Region; Felicity Godwins, All State Round 2;

Angel Romero, All Region, All State Round 2; Greyson Hyde, All Region, All State Round 2; Nathan Timpson-Whitlow, All Region, All State Round 2; Xavior Gilliam, All Region; Naomi Roenne, All Region; Waylon Henry, All Region; Savion Sheppard, All Region, All State Round 2; Alexander Cook, All Region; and Devon Cannon, All Region.

MacArthur High School students who qualified for All-Region band are: Audrey Ferguson, Isabella Bates, Alivia Pope, Joel Lee, Jamie Butler, Andrew Olter, Nicolas Raso, Victoria Jimenez Diaz and James Puccino.

Eisenhower High School students who qualified for All-Region band are: Marcos Aguilar, Jake Herbert, Delia Martin, Sedona McElroy and Aiden Blackburn. Aguilar advanced to the second round of All-State.

Two Eisenhower Middle School students, Amilya Overton and Vivian Nguyen, were selected to the Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors All-Region Band.

MacArthur Middle School students who were selected to All-Region band include: Rachel Wright, Josie Hayes, Jade Green, Eunseo Choi, Derek Dollarhite, Landon Nunez and Patrick Stewart.

Central Middle School students who were selected to All-Region band include: Olivia White, Cordelia Aitkins, Leela Chasenah, Samuel Threlkeld, Ayden Roush, Tyler Sneed, Kylie Hearn, Asher Austin, Aurora Hubert, Hailey Cook, J’Adore Thomas, Cameron Moncree and Elizabeth Kunst.
