Lawton Police Department is investigating an apparent homicide at a central Lawton residence on Sunday.
Officers were called to 1604 SW E on a report of a shooting at about 8 p.m. Sunday. Prior to officers arriving, they were informed the suspect was still inside the residence, according to police reports. When officers arrived, they commanded the suspect to step out with his hands up. The suspect complied and was taken into custody, according to police reports.
Police said officers then located a victim with a gunshot wound; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
