With a boost in the added money, most of the top PRCA bull riders will gather in Lawton Friday and Saturday for the Liberty National Bank Xtreme Bulls at the Great Plains Coliseum.
The event starts at 7 p.m. both nights with gates opening at 6 p.m. Advance tickets start at $15 and that will save bull riding fans $5 off the price at the gate. Tickets are available at Liberty National Bank locations or use the following Web address: https://www.lawtonxtremebulls.com/
The event has become one of the most-popular bull riding events in Oklahoma with most of the top bull riders entered and ready to compete, with a field of 40 top riders competing each night. They will be challenged by the top pen of bulls from Frontier Rodeo Company, the top PRCA Contractor for the past eight years. Throw in bulls from the Apache-based “Mo” Betta Rodeo Company and the action will be fierce each time the gates open.
Among the field of competitors is Tristen Hutchings of Monteview, Idaho, who earned the largest one-rodeo payout in PRCA history, earning $74,000 last weekend at the Rodeo Houston. Hutchings is scheduled to compete during Friday’s first performance.
He is joined by former world champions, riders who finished in the Top 50 last year and 10 riders currently listed in the PRCA bull riding standings including Oklahoma sensation Wacey Schalla of Arapaho.
Schalla is the current leader and well on his way to his second trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December. Schalla is schedule to compete during Saturday’s session along with 14 other contestants who had top 30 finishes last season.
Former World Champion Ky Hamilton of Mackay, Australia, will compete Friday along with former champion Cody Teel. Other big names up Friday include the following: Fulton Rutland, Jax Mills, Maverick Smith, Hayes Weight, Jake Gardner, Clayton Sellars, Cooper James and Brody Yeary.
Saturday’s list includes many big names as well including the following: Luke Mast, Jestyn Woodward, Jate Frost, Trevor Reiste, JR Stafford, Lukasey Morris, former Lawton champion Dustin Boquet, Jace Trosclair, Jackson Ward, Scott Wells, Taylor Toves, Tristan Mize, Trey Benton III, Roscoe Jarboe and Trey Kimzey who is getting closer and closer to joining his brother Sage at the top of the list of bull riders. Sage won seven straight World titles and Trey is making trips to the National Finals an annual happening just like his older brother.
The impressive list of riders can be attributed to the $30,000 added money thanks to Liberty National Bank and other local sponsors.
