DUNCAN — A trio of felony charges were filed Monday against a Texas man for lewd behavior while he was being booked into jail.
A felony arrest warrant was issued Monday in Stephens County District Court for Andre Dawson, 36, of Waco, Texas, for three counts of indecent exposure, records indicate. Each count is punishable by between 30 days to 10 years in prison.
While being booked into the Stephens County jail on Nov. 29, investigators said Dawson was seen on security video pleasuring himself while looking at a female detention officer and stopped when male deputies entered the room, the warrant affidavit states. Later, a nurse enters and speaks with the officer and Dawson resumed his activities, according to Deputy Pablo de los Santos. When the nurse saw what he was doing, she contacted a shift supervisor who took him to a jail cell.
Investigators learned Dawson has behaved like this before. On June 20, Dawson asked the name of a female detention officer and after getting it, began similar activities while staring into the security camera, the affidavit states. The next day, he is accused of repeating the same behavior, de los Santos stated.
