Following a preliminary hearing Thursday, a Lawton woman was bound over for trial along with her partner for allegations she allowed him to physically and sexually abuse their children.
At the end of testimony and evidence presentation, Comanche County Special District Judge Susan Zwann bound Lynn Sanchez, 33, over for trial for 10 felony charges: six counts of enabling child abuse, two counts of enabling sexual abuse and two counts of child abuse, records indicate.
Damon Andrew Hoover, 46, was bound over for trial on Jan. 10 for six counts of child abuse, five counts of child sexual abuse, three counts of forcible sodomy and a count of assault with a dangerous weapon, records indicate.
The couple were charged in June 2024.
Lawton police first received a call May 28, 2024, to Urban Air, 5324 Cache Road, after a 15-year-old boy told the venue manager that he and his sister had been abused by Hoover, the probable cause affidavit states. He told investigators his 11-year-old sister told him Hoover had been raping her. The girl, who is being home schooled, told him Hoover had been having “full blown sex” with her since she was 4 years old, along with other forms of sexual abuse, according to the affidavit. He also said Hoover also made the girl and his 13-year-old brother have inappropriate contact and that he would watch.
The boy also told of using a bat, hangers and hands to hit him and his brother as well as using a Taser on them as punishment, the affidavit states. During her forensic interview, the girl confirmed the abuse, according to investigators.
Sanchez told police Hoover yells at and spanks the children but had never used anything beside a charging cord, belt or his hand to hit them, the affidavit states. There had been a past DHS report over the girl having a red mark on her buttocks from being spanked with a belt, she told Warren.
Hoover told Warren he is a “stay-at-home dad” while Sanchez works and denied the abuse allegations. He said he would make the boys run “10-15” laps in the backyard as punishment, the affidavit states. He admitted to owning a Taser and a baseball bat but denied any sexual abuse.
Held on $100,000 bond, Sanchez will be formally arraigned on April 9.
Hoover is being held on $250,000 bond. He is scheduled for an April 21 hearing for the sounding of the next jury trial docket.
