Who would pass up a chance to win a new car?
Lawton Public School Foundation teamed up with Classic Chevrolet in Lawton to raffle off a 2024 Chevy Trax.
Lisa Carson, Executive Director of Lawton Public School Foundation, said this is the second time Classic has raffled a car to the foundation.
“(The car) is kind of a candy apple red,” Carson said. “It’s really a pretty car.”
Carson said they move the car around town so people can see it. The car has a decal on it with a QR code that can be scanned in order to buy tickets online. The decal will be taken off before it’s given to the winner.
“We move it in different busy locations,” Carson said. “We tried it on Cache Road, Gore and Lee.”
If someone buys a ticket online, Carson said she hand fills out a hard ticket “so everybody has the same opportunity to be a winner.”
“The way the drawing is set up is tickets are $25 each, but they’re five for $100,” Carson said. “So if you buy $100, you’re getting a free one.”
Carson said the proceeds go back to the teachers and classrooms of Lawton Public Schools.
“Classic Lawton Chevrolet really believes in putting money back in the classroom,” Carson said. “Every penny that we make will go back to the classroom.”
Carson said they are only selling 4,500 tickets.
“The odds are very good that you might win a car if you purchase a ticket,” Carson said. “Purchasing a raffle ticket is a win-win for everyone. When you purchase a ticket, it is tax deductible, you have a great chance of winning a car and the money made from the ticket sales funds resources and materials for the teachers and students of LPS.”
Anyone can buy tickets at any Liberty National Bank location, on Lawton Public School Foundation’s website or at Classic Lawton Chevrolet. The last day of the raffle is Sept. 20. The winner will be chosen at the foundation’s annual breakfast at Golden Corral.
“My favorite part of this campaign is witnessing all the people that buy a ticket for someone in their life that needs a car,” Carson said.
