September is Library Card Sign Up Month and what better way to celebrate than with a Transformers theme?
The Lawton Public Library is doing just that with a month long celebration of the power of reading and the value of a library card. This year’s theme, “Autobots, Roll Out with a Library Card!” is inspired by the Transformers franchise.
The first 100 people to sign up for a new library card will receive a small goodie bag filled with Transformers-themed treats, according to a press release. Visitors can also take a photo with a Transformers background at the self-service photo booth or participate in their “Transform a Book Cover” contest.
Kristin Herr, Library Director, said they’re thrilled to offer the theme.
“Transformers have been a beloved franchise for generations,” Herr said “We hope that this theme will inspire kids and adults alike to discover the joy of reading and learning.”
Library Card Sign Up Month is a great opportunity to explore the vast resources and services that the library has to offer, including books, movies, music and more, the release said. With a library card, anyone can access online databases and Interlibrary Loan services.
