The Lawton Public Library is having its annual picture book contest throughout October. The contest is a part of its StoryWalk program.
Kids and teens ages 6-18, can write and illustrate picture books inspired by the theme “Color Our World,” according to a press release. Entries must be on 11×17 paper horizontally.
Contestants can pick up paper from the library or use their own. They will be making their books at home and bring the completed works back to the library to be judged. The books must have 15 numbered pages including the cover. One side of each sheet of paper must be used.
Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 25. Winners will be contacted by Oct. 28. One winner will be chosen from two age ranges: Ages 6-11 and Ages 12-18. Winners will receive a small prize and their book will be displayed in a StoryWalk during November.
