Police are investigating a Friday morning fatal shooting on Lawton’s north side and are asking for the public’s help for clues.
Lawton police and firefighters were called around 7:45 a.m. to 2235 NW Hoover to a shooting and arrived to find an unidentified victim dead, according to Sgt. Christopher Blessing, Lawton Police information officer. The 2300 block of Northwest Hoover Avenue was closed to the public Friday morning for investigative purposes.
The victim and suspect identities are under investigation and haven’t been released.
Blessing asked for the public’s help with the investigation.
“We are asking the public that live in the area to please check your security footage to see if it captured anything pertaining to the incident,” he said. “The Lawton Police Department will release more information as it becomes available.”

The shooting death is the city’s 15th homicide of this year, according to Constitution records.
