Lawton Police Department said early Monday they have arrested a juvenile for assault with dangerous weapon, in connection with a shooting that occurred Dec. 27.
Police said last week they were dispatched to 2324 Dunstan Lane in northwest Lawton mid-afternoon and found a juvenile with a gunshot wound. That juvenile was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, police said at the time.
In a statement released Monday, police said they interviewed another juvenile, who became a suspect in the case. Detectives interviewed the juvenile in the presence of his mother, and at the conclusion of the interview, he was placed under arrest for assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, according to the statement.
