An arrest warrant was issued for a Lawton man accused of improper touching of a 4-year-old and of violating a protective order.
The Comanche County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant Tuesday for Ricardo Romo, 35, for a count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and a misdemeanor count of protective order violation, records indicate. The felony is punishable by between three to 20 years in prison.
The girl’s mother told Lawton Police that her 4-year-old daughter told her on May 21 that Romo had put his hands in her pants, under her underwear, the warrant affidavit states.
Detective Sedona Warren spoke with Romo on June 17. He admitted to lying in bed with the girl and he accidentally touched her but that she was clothed, the affidavit states.
An emergency protective order was granted to the mother for her and the girl on May 23. According to the charge, Romo made contact with her at her home on June 16.
A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 25 regarding the order and pending a DHS investigation, records indicate.
The woman had received emergency protective orders against Romo twice before: in May 2022 and December 2022.
A $200,000 cash warrant bond was issued for Romo pending his arrest.
