A Comanche County judge ordered a 37-year-old Lawton man guilty of improper conduct with a 15-year-old serve 40 years in prison, per the recommendation of a Comanche County jury.
Chief District Judge Grant Sheperd ordered Joshua Matthew Hoffman serve 20 years for each of two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16 and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He will serve his sentences consecutively, and due to the nature of the crime, will have to serve 85 percent of each sentence for consideration of parole.
Following two days of jury trial, a Comanche County jury found Hoffman guilty on Aug. 1 of allegations he touched a 15-year-old inappropriately as well as allowed the teen to drink alcohol and consume marijuana.
Hoffman was also sentenced to serve one year in the Comanche County Detention Center for a count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was also originally charged with an additional felony count of sexual battery but the charge was dismissed before trial.
Hoffman is also ordered to pay $21,000 in fine and will be under three years of post-conviction supervision with the Department of Corrections.
