Following two days of trial, a Comanche County jury found a 37-year-old Lawton man guilty of improper conduct with a 15-year-old.
Joshua Matthew Hoffman was found guilty Thursday in Comanche County Chief District Judge Grant Sheperd’s court of two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16 and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The jury recommended Hoffman serve 20 years in prison and pay a $10,000 fine per felony count and another six months in the Comanche County Detention Center for the misdemeanor count.
Hoffman also was charged in March 2021 with an additional felony count of sexual battery but that charge was dismissed.
Following testimony and evidence, the jury determined Hoffman’s guilt for allegations he touched a 15-year-old inappropriately as well as allowed the teen to drink alcohol and consume marijuana.
Hoffman will be sentenced at 11 a.m. Oct. 8.
