Lawton couple jailed on physical, sexual child abuse allegations

A Lawton couple has been charged with physically and sexually abusing their children.

Now they’re each in jail on six-figure bonds.

Damon Andrew Hoover, 46, and Lynn Sanchez, 32, made their initial appearances Friday morning in Comanche County District Court, records indicate.

Hoover was charged with felony counts of child abuse and child sexual abuse, and Sanchez received a felony charge of enabling child abuse.

Lawton police first received a call the afternoon of May 28 to Urban Air, 5324 Cache Road, after a 15-year-old boy reported to the venue manager and that he and his sister had been abused by Hoover, the probable cause affidavit states.

The teen boy spoke with investigators and told them his 11-year-old sister told him Hoover has been “raping me,” Detective Sedona Warren stated. The girl, who is being home schooled, told him Hoover had been having “full blown sex” with her since she was 4 years old, along with other forms of sexual abuse, the affidavit states. He also said Hoover also made the girl and his 13-year-old brother have inappropriate contact and that he would watch.

The boy also told of using a bat, hangers and hands to hit him and his brother as well as using a Taser on them as punishment, according to the affidavit. During her forensic interview, the girl confirmed the abuse, Warren stated.

When Sanchez was interviewed, she said Hoover yells at and spanks the children but had never used anything beside a charging cord, belt or his hand to hit them, the affidavit states. There had been a past DHS report over the girl having a red mark on her buttocks from being spanked with a belt, she told Warren.

Hoover told Warren he is a “stay-at-home dad” while Sanchez works. He denied the abuse allegations and said he would make the boys run “10-15” laps in the backyard as punishment, the affidavit states. He admitted to owning a Taser and a baseball bat but denied any sexual abuse, according to Warren.

Hoover is held on $250,000 bond and Sanchez is held on $100,000 bond, records indicate.
