A Lawton man accused of sneaking synthetic marijuana into theĀ where he worked in the kitchen told investigators with how he did it and how much he was paid.
Randy Wayne Jackson, 54, made his initial appearance Monday in Comanche County District Court where he received felony charges of bringing drugs into a penal institution, acquiring proceeds from drug activity and unlawful use of a telephone in the commission of a felony, records indicate.
Jackson, who worked on the kitchen staff at the prison, 8607 SE Flower Mound Road, was questioned July 24 after an investigation into drug smuggling into the prison led back to him, according to Office of the Inspector General Agent Austin Barrick. Investigators learned Jackson had been receiving payments through CashApp and he admitted to receiving payments in exchange for bringing tobacco and K2 synthetic marijuana into the prison, the probable cause affidavit states.
Jackson said heād brought the contraband into the prison three times with the most recent being the week before, Barrick stated. He said he took blank paper infused with K2 that was sent to him and then prints inmate staff requests and other common forms onto the paper and brings it into the facility, the affidavit states. He said he was paid $3,000 each time he brings contraband into the prison and that he began doing it in April 2023, Barrick stated.
These charges add to the over two dozen cases involving contraband or attempts to get it behind prison walls since 2023, according to Constitution records. At least a handful of these charges have stemmed from employees or prospective employees attempting to deliver the goods.
Held on $50,000 bond, Jackson returns to court at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
