Amen Laurenzana birdied two of the last three holes Sunday to break away from the field and win the A Flight title in the Lawton Public Golf Course’s annual Club Championship tournament.
Laurenzana shot rounds of 72 and 70 for a two-under par total of 142. He had four birdies and four bogeys in the first round, then picked four more birds with just two lost strokes on Sunday.
He clinched the title with birds at the par-4 16th and par-5 18 holes.
Brandon Pita closed with the tourney’s best round, a 69, to finish second with a 145 total. He had six bogeys in his first-round 76, but had five birdies and just a pair of bogeys for the 69.
Taking third in A Flight was Richard Sullivan with rounds of 74 and 73 for 147.
Kaipo posted a four-stroke victory in B Flight with rounds of 77 and 73 for 150. Anthony Coleman closed with a 74 for 154 and runner-up honors while Fred Codynah had a pair of 79s for 158 and third place.
Steve Cable is the C Flight winner, firing 84 and 80 for164. He edged Dustin Miller (85-80) by one stroke and Jesse Potts (85-84) by five.
Gerard Parker is the D Flight champ, adding an 83 to his opening 89 for a total of 172 strokes. Brian Stillwell matched the 83 Sunday and finished one stroke behind Parker while Larry Turner went 89-85 for 174 and third place.
