FREDERICK — One person was injured and hospitalized from a two-vehicle wreck Thursday night in Tillman County blamed by non-working trailer lights in the lead vehicle.
Carmen C. Connelly, 61, of Tipton, was flown to Comanche County Memorial Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition with arm injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Connelly was the passenger in a Nissan Versa driven by Laurie R. Sebree, 73, of Tipton, that was traveling southbound on Oklahoma 5 shortly after 7:30 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado pickup pulling two cotton trailers with no trailer lights driven by Robert M. Calhoun, 64, of Frederick, was driving in the lead when the Versa struck the driver side of the rearmost trailer about 6 miles west of Frederick, Trooper Chris Arganbright reported.
Calhoun, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
Sebree and passengers Anthony Delgado, 39, of Seymour, Texas, Christine J. Pekah, 30, of Tipton, and a 4-month-old boy were treated and released from Comanche County Memorial Hospital, the report states. Arganbright reported no one in the Versa was wearing a seatbelt.
The failure to use trailer lights was reported as the collision’s cause.
