The Knights of Columbus Council 11909 will host its annual bowling tournament Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Thunderbird Lanes.
This year the group will raise money for St. Vincent de Pauls, an organization looking to give back to local communities across the nation. Last year’s tournament saw 42 teams compete, and Knights of Columbus raised $8,300 for local charities.
To preregister, participants will have to get a flyer from Thunderbird Lanes or from Twin Oaks bowling center and send it to the return address. Preregistration ends Aug. 23. Cost to play is $37 a bowler and $80 per team. Preregistration for the tournament is preferred but you can still sign up on the first day of the tournament.
Money raised in the tournament will go to St. Vincent de Paul as they will look to give back to the community. The organization will help with things like bills, electricity, groceries, and anything else to help those less fortunate.
For those interested in being a part of the tournament, expect door prizes, multiple raffles, a cash incentive for hitting a strike, and donated gift cards to use at sponsored businesses.
The Knights of Columbus are still looking for annual sponsorships for the event.
This year’s tournament will begin at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug 31 and 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 1.
