Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center (JTC) announced the opening of its expanded Urgent Recovery Clinic (URC) on Monday. The new facility will increase the center’s patient capacity from 8 to 14, “greatly enhancing support for the community,” the press release stated.
A ribbon cutting for the new facility will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at 602 SW 38th Street. The release noted that the event will be in the back northeast part of the building.
The URC will feature upgraded amenities, including modern showers, and provide essential resources to better serve the Lawton community. Ronda Campbell, Director of Admissions, Community and Customer Relations at JTC, said, “The expansion of the Urgent Recovery Clinic gives us a greater opportunity to enhance the services we offer. We are proud to have a larger, more modern facility that meets the needs of our patients.”
In fiscal year 2024, the clinic provided care for 323 patients with some returning for a total of 448 services. The URC reports strong diversion rates, with 55.8 percent at seven days, 54 percent at 14 days, 51.3 percent at 30 days, and 49 percent at 60 days, demonstrating its commitment to effective recovery solutions.
With the expansion of the URC, the facility will offer increased space and resources, ensuring that all patients receive the highest quality of care.
