An arrest warrant was issued Friday for a former Lawton Correctional Facility inmate accused of stabbing another inmate in March 2023.
The Comanche County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant for Santoi Miguel Whiters, 27, for counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by an inmate, records indicate. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections Agent Steve Bonds began investigating the March 28, 2023, assault. It was learned that Whiters had a shank and had came up and stabbed the other inmate from behind, the warrant affidavit states.
Whiters was serving time at Lawton Correctional Facility before being transferred to Allen Gamble Correctional Center in Holdenville following the assault.
Whiters has prior felony convictions in Oklahoma County from May 2016 for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and robbery with a firearm, records indicate.
