Lawton police said a man pulled over while police conducted surveillance on his house was arrested after he blurted out “I do drugs” and was found to be selling them, too.
Omoniyi Abdul Litsey, 26, of Lawton, made his initial appearance Tuesday in Comanche County District Court where he was charged with felony counts of aggravated fentanyl trafficking, cocaine trafficking, acquiring proceeds from drug activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful use of a phone to conduct drug trafficking as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and required position and method of turning, records indicate. The aggravated trafficking charge is punishable by up to life in prison.
Detectives from the Special Operations Unit were investigating Litsey for suspected cocaine trafficking and were watching his home at 619 SW 60th when shortly before 12:20 p.m. Dec. 14, he left in his Chevrolet Malibu, according to the probable cause affidavit. He was pulled over after turning into the outside lane instead of the inside lane at Southwest 38th Street and Dr. Elsie Hamm.
Litsey was reported to be acting nervous with shaking hands when an officer approached. When told a K-9 officer would be brought to conduct an open-air sniff for drugs, Litsey went from slightly nervous to very nervous, according to Detective Jeff McCoy. During instructions from the officer, Litsey interrupted and said, “Sir, I do drugs,” the affidavit states. He didn’t elaborate and the K-9 was deployed. The dog responded to drugs from the driver’s side front door window and the rear door seam, McCoy stated.
Litsey was detained and two clear bags containing fentanyl were found lying on the driver side floorboard, according to the affidavit. Litsey admitted he had a bag containing “a large amount of cocaine” in his sock and he handed it to the detective, McCoy stated. Litsey was then arrested.
A search of the car turned up small, empty bags in the console, a bag with a single fentanyl pill and another bag with a small amount of cocaine, McCoy stated.
When asked if there were more drugs at the home, Litsey told police there were and it was “all his.”
When police searched Litsey’s home, they found digital scales covered in cocaine, several empty bags, just over 30 grams of cocaine, more than 1,250 fentanyl tablets, three firearms and $26,681 in cash in a shoebox, the affidavit states.
Held on $200,000 bond with a GPS ankle monitor as a condition for bail, Litsey returns to court at 3 p.m. March 19, 2024, for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
