Due to trouble with the cooling system The City of Lawton’s Parks & Recreation Department will be temporarily amending operational hours of the HC King Center.
Starting today the HC King Center will be open from 8 a.m. – noon Monday through Friday.
This is an effort to ensure the safety of staff and patrons, and limit exposure at that facility in the heat of the day, according to a press release issued by The City of Lawton.
Temporary measures are being used to bring temperatures down until a permanent replacement system is delivered. These temporary measures should be installed by the end of next week, so it is anticipated that normal hours will be back in place at that time.
According to a press release from the City of Lawton the new permanent system for the HC King Center should be delivered in mid- September.
