Mark Hill led this week’s chase to the top of the Honor Roll with a 763 from Thunderbird Lanes’ TNT league. Hill put games of 254, 264, and 245 together to make up the series.

Tyler Price followed in this league with a 714, starting off with one of three almost perfect 279 games reported across town last week.

Last week’s headliner, Jim Bomboy, was another bowler to come up a frame shy, also starting his set in the Suburban league with a 279, followed by 243 and 195 for 717.

Leading the Suburban was Johnnie Scheid, who neared a spectacular triplicate set with games of 246, 248, and 248, finishing up with a 742 total.

Brandon Tipton was in the mix, posting 247, 194, and 268 for a 709.

Jason Olnes kicked off his set in the Tuesday Night Mixed with a 278 score before adding 224 and 231 for a 733 and David Yett went 195, 246, and 259 for 700 on the money.

The TNM was also the setting for Andrea Halstead’s 694, which was the best set for the ladies. An-drea rolled consistent games of 228, 234, and 232 to make up the series.

Finishing up the list of 700 series’, Troy Hardin was the His and Hers’ bowler of the week with a 712 that included games of 255, 199, and 258.

Did you notice that every 279/278 bowled last week just so happened to be the first game rolled for each of the recipients, including Bruce Flack of the Early Birds. Flack rolled 279, 230, and 189 to end up just shy of the 700 marker with a 698.

Honorable mention goes out to Carolyn Davis, who has been putting in a lot of extra time on the lanes as she learns to love the game and is striving to continue to improve. With 30 games vested in the Early Birds league, Davis has her average up to a 79, but that will not last as she busted her 100 score goal each game last week, scoring 154, 103, and 133. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Congratulations are also in order for Michaela Morales, not just for her bowling but also for recently becoming the mother to twin boys. Michaela got back on the lanes and bowled a career-high score of 227 off a 134 average, making her debut on the honor roll.

My apologies to the TBird youth and the Senior No-Tap bowlers. I was not able to get your scores ready in time for this column, but I will get you all caught up with next week’s news

Shop with a Cop Fundraiser

Mark your calendars for the first annual Shop with a Cop bowling event, which will be held on Nov. 16th at 2 pm at Thunderbird Lanes.

There are many activities planned for this event, but primarily it will be a 9-pin no tap team event. The entry fee is $50 per person, and signing up early will be a must to reserve a lane.

Door prizes, 50/50 tickets, and a host of other items will be in the mix, along with bragging rights as the Comanche Nation Police Department challenge the Lawton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 98 in a bowling showdown. Pick your side and sign up soon.

Details to follow, but for further information, contact tournament director Robert Chavez at 580-291-7736.
