NEW YORK —Enrique Hernandez ripped a 2-run homer in the sixth inning and Shohei Ohtani sealed the deal with a 3-run shot in the top of the eighth to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 8-0 victory Wednesday to take a 2-1 lead in the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers were on cruise control heading into the eighth inning with a 4-0 cushion but Ohtani erased all doubt with a shot to right field that brought home Will Smith and Enrique Hernandez to send the Mets fans home. Game 4 will begin at 7:08 p.m. Thursday.
The Dodgers used five pitchers in the game with Walker Buehler working the first four innings allowing three hits, a pair of walks and he fanned six. LA then used three straight pitchers, each working just an inning. They allowed just one hit in that span and four hits on the night for the Mets.
