HOLLIS — A two-vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon in Harmon County investigators blamed on passing too close to an intersection hospitalized two people.
The wreck happened shortly before 4 p.m. on U.S. 62, 3 miles east of Hollis, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Danford Y. Paet was driving a GMC Canyon eastbound on U.S. 62 and attempted to slow down to make a left turn onto a county street when an eastbound Nissan Murano driven by Crystal L. Court tried to overtake the GMC and pass but, instead, crashed into it, Trooper Justin Wheeler reported.
Paet, 24, of Altus, was not injured.
Court, 38, of Bartlesville, was taken to Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis and then transferred to OU Medical center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in good condition with a minor head injury, Wheeler reported. Three of her passengers were treated and released. A 17-year-old girl from Hollis who also was riding with her was flown to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in stable condition with lower extremity injuries.
Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles, according to the report.
