A Lawton man is wanted by law enforcement for allegations he forged almost $15,000 in fraudulent checks from a local restaurant.
The Comanche County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant Thursday for Roger Alvin Aguiar, 38, for a count of uttering a forged instrument, records indicate.
Lawton police began investigating Aguiar in February when a report was filed regarding multiple checks created using the Kimono Steak and Sushi bank account. The checks were made payable to Aguiar and another man and woman, the warrant affidavit states. A warrant to search records at two banks was issued.
Over the course of investigation, $14,736.03 in counterfeit checks were drawn from the account, the affidavit states. Records indicate Aguiar was the person depositing the checks into personal accounts and also cashing others, Detective David Folkert stated.
A $5,000 cash warrant bond was issued upon Aguiar’s arrest.
