The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a fourth death in three months at the Comanche County Detention Center.
The Bureau was asked to begin an investigation early Monday morning after inmate Keith Bradley was discovered dead, said OSBI Information Officer Hunter McKee. Few other details are available regarding how he was found.
Bradley’s body was taken to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City for autopsy and to determine cause of death.
Keith Edward Bradley, 38, had been in the detention center since April 2022 when he was charged with a count of possession of weapons by an inmate, court records indicate. He pleaded guilty and was scheduled for judgment and sentencing Monday.
The OSBI was requested to investigate two deaths at the detention center from Aug. 23 and 24.
McKee said those deaths remain under investigation and more information will be released when available.
Charges were filed in another death.
Calvin Lykell Christopher Riss, 25; Edward Rendardo Brown, 50; and Markie Montrell Ishman, 32; all of Lawton, are accused of taking Matthew Jones, 30, into a cell in the jail on Aug. 16 where he was beaten to death. According to the probable cause affidavit, Jones suffered several hemorrhages and hematomas.
The three made their initial appearances in Comanche County District Court on Sept. 22 where each man was charged with a felony count of first-degree manslaughter, records indicate. The crime is punishable by between 10 years to life in prison.
