Former soldier pleads guilty to secretly filming teen sisters

A 44-year-old Lawton man will serve 15 years in prison and register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after pleading guilty to clandestinely taking video of a two teen sisters.

On Wednesday, Justin Courtney Houser, pleaded guilty in Comanche County District court to two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 as well as another felony charge of peeping tom with photographic/electronic equipment, records indicate.

District Judge Jay Walker sentenced Houser to serve 15 years in prison for the first lewd acts count, another 15 years suspended for the second, and to serve five years concurrently with the first count for the peeping tom charge. He will undergo three years of Department of Corrections supervision upon release.

Houser admitted to surreptitiously video recording two teen girls via a hidden camera in their bathroom. The cameras were camouflaged as a wall plug and a smoke detector and both had wi-fi capable SIM cards inside them, the probable cause affidavit states.

At the time, Houser was a soldier stationed at Fort Sill. Lawton police arrested him on post and he confessed “he made a mistake” and that when off his bi-polar medication he spirals out of control and makes “stupid” decisions, the affidavit states. He also admitted he’d put the camera in the bathroom “to see what he could see,” but denied seeing any images from the cameras.

Investigators looking through images on the SIM cards found photos of the two sisters, one 15 and the other 16, in various stages of undress and completely nude, according to the affidavit.

Houser has been in custody of the Comanche County Detention Center on $500,000 bond since his initial appearance in the Comanche County District Court on Nov. 17, 2023..
