Fletcher will send five baseball teams into OK Kids State Tournaments at three different sites across Oklahoma starting with two of those teams beginning today in Sallisaw.
Fletcher advanced both its 8U and 10U teams along with a 6U team.
Fletcher Gold 10U is one of the favorites after reaching the tournament finals last year before losing a heartbreaker. Fletcher Gold 10U has been paired against the Washington Warriors at 6 p.m. in Sallisaw in a Red Bracket game.
“We’ve been on a mission this season to get back to the finals and play like we are capable,” Gold Coach Hayden Herrin said of his team that has gone 27-1 this season.
Fletcher White 10U, coached by TJ Acker, has been matched against the Hobart Hitmen and will play at 4 p.m. today in the Blue Bracket of that event.
The brackets will feature double-elimination formats until a champion is crowned in a best-of-three series.
The two Fletcher 8U teams will be playing at Clinton and both will be competing starting on Thursday. Fletcher White 8U, coached by Marty Maahs, faces Weatherford Black at 7 p.m. in a Blue bracket contest while the Fletcher Gold 8U team, coached by Bobby McCracken, faces Poteau Crew at 5:45 p.m. Thursday in a Red bracket contest.
Fletcher’s 6U team will head to Weatherford for its State Tournament with the first-round opponent on Thursday being Lindsay at 4:15 p.m. on Field No. 4 at Rader Park where OK Kids got its start.
