Bruce Flack found the winning combination of the right ball to match up with his lane conditions to put this week’s high series of 751 together on games of 258, 278 and 215 while bowling in the TNT league at Thunderbird Lanes.
James Vaughn was a close second with 750 from the Suburban league at Twin Oaks where he had a night reminiscent of days gone by, posting 248, 245 and 257.
And going back to the TNT, Richard Jacoby rounded out the top three with one of his two 700 series’ last week, a 743 that went 268, 270 and 205.
Amanda Price got her digs in on that particular TNT night as well, posting the ladies high series of 736 that included a 224 game in front of back to back 256’s.
Andrea Halstead, Suburban, rolled 716 for second highest set for the gals, shooting 202, 279 and 235.
Wrapping up the rest of the Suburban and TNT high rollers, Conner Macdonald, TNT, rolled 740 on games of 266, 236 and 238, Joseph Spires, Suburban, 706 on games of 211, 237 and 258 and Chad Perry, Suburban, 210, 234 and 257 for a 701.
Richard Jacoby led on the senior front with 738 from the Socialites where he had games of 234, 245 and 259.
Jim Bomboy had top series in the Tuesday Night Mixed of 735 with games of 253, 258 and 224 and Dale Perry made the news with 728 from the Early Birds where he had 206, 267 and 255.
And coming from the Goodyear league, Craig Fain recorded 205, 244 and 269 for a 718 and David Fishbeck posted the men’s high game of the week of 279 along with 222 and 215 for openers for a 716 set.
Youth bowling
Gabe Rush rolled the youth high series in the TOBC Oak Trees league, a new addition to youth bowling options on Saturday mornings. We received scores showing Rush with the honor roll high set from week four of 678 on games of 243, 258 and 277 and Ali Biscaino with the honor roll high game of 268 from this past Saturday, Sept. 21st.
The TBird MiniShots reported a 100 game for Alonzo Chavez’s first game of the season in the bump-er assist league.
Bragging rights in the U12 HotShots went to DJ Scott for a 430 on games of 142, 164 and 124 and for the TBird Legends, Peyton Smith posted 227, 202 and 235 for a 664.
No-Tap News
Sam Bowman and Rick Olson shared first place in last Friday’s senior no tap at Thunderbird Lanes, posting 881 for the handicap high series.
With matching averages and handicaps, the duo also shared first place in Scratch Singles with 824.
It was a day for ties as third place in the men’s division was a shared effort by JP Nauman and Gene Augustine Jr, each with an 840 for totals.
Third high on the scratch winners list was Lee Brown with 764.
Elaine Henderson rallied in game three and scored 219 to win the women’s division with 798 and Peggy Towne followed with 764.
Lee Brown and Gene Augustine rolled no-tap 300’s in game one and on a very rare occasion, ended up being Mystery Doubles partners, winning game one with a record setting 661.
Rick Olson and James Middleton was another good combo as the pair took first in game two with
545 and first in game three with 580.
Olson was one of only three to cash in on a strike pot tickets along with Roy Johnson and Charles Norman, but three out of seven of the special challenge shots were hit.
Sam Bowman rolled seven, five and nine for twenty-one to win the “21 Jackpot”, Michael Peckin-paugh left the 3-10 for the “Snake Bite” prize and James Halstead’s “Make That Spare” was an easy conversion of the 1-2-3-4-10.
This event is held every Friday afternoon starting at 1pm at Thunderbird Lanes and is open to all bow-lers age 50 and above.
Entry fee is just $15 per person and includes Mystery Doubles and Special Challenge tickets. Strike pot tickets and the scratch singles event are optional.
