FISTA Innovation Park will be the host site in April for the 3rd annual FIRES Symposium.
The Air Defense Artillery Association (ADAA) and the United States Field Artillery Association (USFAA) will be the co-hosts for the April 7-10 symposium, an event expected to draw at least 1,000 participants, FISTA officials said.
In 2023, the two associations came together, with limited logistical support from leadership at the Fires Center of Excellence to bring a joint conference to the FIRES community and foster discussions from both branches. This year’s topic, Transforming Land-Based Fires for LSCO, is nested within the Secretary of the Army’s mission of Transforming the total Army for LSCO, officials said.
The Army’s modernization strategy is working towards achieving a “Multi-Domain Capable Force” by 2030. Within this, Air Defense Artillery and Field Artillery forces assume pivotal roles, equipped with advanced capabilities to engage targets at extended ranges and safeguard forces against an evolving spectrum of air, missile, and drone threats.
Officials said the FIRES Symposium is set to be a dynamic platform, featuring speakers and panels that offer a comprehensive joint and combined FIRES perspective, in addition to multiple breakout sessions tailored to each branch. FIRES Symposium will foster in-depth discussions on the critical roles that ADA and FA forces will play in shaping the future of battlefield warfare, officials said.
Leaders from the Army, Army National Guard, Marine Corps and other branches of the military will deliver keynote presentations and actively participate in panel discussions, providing valuable insights and expertise. Officials said the event also will serve as an opportunity for industry to interact with attendees, through networking events planned throughout the symposium, along with indoor and outdoor displays.
The associations also will host a golf tournament at the Fort Sill Golf Course April 7, and their annual Musical Tattoos during the symposium.
