Four area volunteer fire departments worked together to battle a house fire east of Lawton Thursday morning that destroyed the home.
The Valley View Fire Department first responded at 6:44 a.m. to the structure fire at East Gore Boulevard, near Trail Road, according to Alana Pack, deputy director for Comanche County — Lawton Emergency Management. The house was fully-involved when they arrived and began battling the blaze.
The home was occupied at the time of fire and all residents were safely evacuated, Pack said.
Valley View was joined by firefighters from Cox’s Store, Flower Mound and Hulen. Kirk’s EMS, the Comanche County Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management also assisted. The fire was brought under control by 9:20 a.m., however the structure was a total loss, according to Pack.
“No injuries are reported,” she said, “and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
