A Tulsa woman who said she believed she was smuggling tobacco into the Lawton Correctional Facility is in jail accused of fentanyl trafficking after the package was found by guards.
Miracle Michala Dixon, 21, made her initial appearance Wednesday in Comanche County District Court where she was charged with felony counts of fentanyl trafficking and conspiracy, records indicate. The trafficking count is punishable by between two years to life in prison.
Dixon was developed as a suspect following a March 29 visit with an inmate at the prison, 8607 SE Flower Mound Road.
The inmate, who hasn’t been charged, was searched following Dixon’s visit and corrections officers discovered 15 grams of fentanyl in a small package wrapped with black electrical tape, the probable cause affidavit states. Dixon was interviewed by investigators and she admitted to carrying the package into the prison. She said the inmate had given her a phone number to call and she was directed to a Lawton address where she picked up the pre-wrapped package, the affidavit states.
The package, which she believed to be tobacco, was hidden under Dixon’s bra, and she handed it to the inmate under the table, according to the affidavit. Dixon said it was her first time bringing contraband to the inmate.
Held on $70,000 bond, Dixon returns to court at 3 p.m. June 18 for her preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
