FAXON — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a Sept. 28 wreck that ignited a grass fire.
Jessica K. Herring, 43, of Faxon, died from her injuries from the wreck.
Herring was driving a Jeep Wrangler that was traveling westbound on Southwest Tinney Road when it went off the dirt roadway to the left for an unknown reason, according to Trooper Spencer Sperling. The vehicle overturned an unknown number of times, ejecting Herring.
The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames and ignited a grass fire near Southwest 112th Street. Geronimo and Pecan Creek’s fire departments battled the grass fire, the report states.
Herring’s body was taken to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Oklahoma City office for autopsy and identification. Her condition and the cause of the collision remain under investigation, Sperling reported.
