Comanche County Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) will host its annual Farmhand Olympics on Sept. 5 in the Great Plains Coliseum at the Comanche County Fairgrounds, 920 S. Sheridan.
As always, the kids can count on all of their favorite events this year including goat penning, egg gathering, calf branding, wheelbarrow racing, ear tagging, stall cleaning, and more.
Registration starts at 4 p.m. and is free to all school-aged children who reside in Comanche County. The games begin at 5 p.m. There will be prizes for each age group winner.
This event, which is part of the Comanche County Free Fair, is geared toward helping local students experience agriculture firsthand. It is free and open to the public to attend.
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers program allows members of Farm Bureau, between the ages of 18 and 35, to plan and participate in a wide range of activities at all levels of Farm Bureau — county, state and national. All of these activities are designed to educate, develop leadership skills, and be fun.
