ELGIN – The Lady Owls tallied a quick run-rule 12-0 win over John Marshall Tuesday with six runs in the first inning and six more in the second.
Keylee Ranabarger hit a three-run double, Jaemie Johns had two more RBIs and Kelby Carter, Kamber Crow and Jordan Johnson all knocked in a run.
Dez Monoessy started on the mound and pitched three innings while giving up one hit. She struck out seven batters. Monoessy threw 29 pitches in the three innings and 25 were strikes. The game was called after three innings because of the run rule.
Elgin only had five hits in the 12-0 win, but also received nine walks from John Marshall pitchers.
Last week, Elgin knocked off Byng 8-0 and shut out Lindsay 4-0. The Lady Owls split a pair of games against Chickasha on Aug. 23, losing 8-3 in the early game and winning 7-6 on walk-off double in the late game.
The game was tied at 6 in the fifth and final inning when Crow doubled on a 3-1 count scoring Kelly Langford from third. Langford had tripled on the previous at-bat.
Elgin was scheduled to host Blanchard Sept. 1. The Lady Owls travel to Blanchard for a rematch on Sept. 6 and then is set to compete Sept. 8-10 in the Southwest Shootout tournament.
