Two jailed for meth bust that yields over 30 lbs. of the drug

ANADARKO — An Elgin man pleaded guilty to charges related to a methamphetamine-fueled pursuit through three counties in March.

On Monday, Sean Garrett Adamson, 30, pleaded guilty to felony charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, pattern of criminal offenses, and a June charge of second-degree burglary, as well as misdemeanor counts of eluding police, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate.

District Judge David A. Stephens ordered Adamson to serve concurrent seven-year terms for the two felonies as well as a revoked sentence from an October 2020 charge of larceny from a house, according to court records. He also received $1,750 in fines plus court costs.

The assault charge stemmed from a March 9 pursuit that began when he failed to stop for police due to an expired tag and a suspended driver’s license in Cyril. The pursuit went into Grady County and involved Rush Springs police before returning west and involving Apache and Sterling police.

Adamson pleaded guilty to swerving into police vehicles, causing damages. Investigators discovered a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine following his arrest.

While on the way to the Caddo County jail, Adamson told police he’d taken four Percocet pills and “was starting to not feel so good,” according to the affidavit. He was taken to the hospital in Anadarko for medical clearance. The hospital conducted a toxicology screen and found he had meth in his system.
