DUNCAN — An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a Duncan woman accused of voting twice in the 2024 presidential primary election.
The Stephens County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant for Raylene Michelle Vance, 39, for a count of perjury, records indicate. The crime is punishable by up to five years in prison.
Sixth District Attorney’s Chief Investigator Justin Scott stated he began the investigation on March 20, 2024, after the county election board brought documentation that Vance voted twice during the March 5, 2024, presidential primary election. It was determined she voted in-person absentee on Feb. 29, 2024, and again at her precinct on March 5, 2024, the warrant affidavit states.
The absentee voter affidavit bearing Vance’s name and signature signed March 5, 2024, contains the following statement: “I swear or affirm that I have no already voted in this election by mail ballot or in-person absentee ballot,” the affidavit states. She signed it five days after presenting her in-person absentee ballot, Scott stated.
